Niagara Falls
A world wonder in your backyard - and some of WNY's best home values.
Few addresses on earth come with a view like this one. Niagara Falls, USA places residents minutes from the oldest state park in America – 400 acres of gorge trails, islands, and overlooks designed by Frederick Law Olmsted – with the roar of the Falls as a daily soundtrack.
Beyond the park, the city offers genuine value: solid brick colonials, charming cape cods, and generous lots at price points that have disappeared from most of the region. Neighborhoods like DeVeaux and LaSalle are known for quiet, tree-lined streets and a strong sense of community.
With ongoing investment in the downtown core, the Niagara Gorge corridor, and the nearby Niagara Wine Trail, the city’s trajectory is upward. For first-time buyers and investors alike, Kunji can help you see past the postcards to the real opportunity here.

Living next to a natural wonder
Niagara Falls State Park was established in 1885 as the Niagara Reservation – the oldest state park in the United States – with a landscape plan by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. Entry is free; you pay only for parking and attractions.
Beyond the falls, the city has Whirlpool State Park and DeVeaux Woods State Park along the Niagara Gorge, and miles of riverside trail.
History and things to do
The Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center opened in 2018 on the ground floor of the 1863 U.S. Customhouse beside the Amtrak station. Its exhibit, “One More River to Cross,” tells the story of freedom seekers who crossed the Niagara River into Canada.
The Amtrak station itself opened in December 2016, with service toward Buffalo, Albany, New York City and Toronto.
Homes and value
The city’s population peaked around 1960, so much of its housing is older – from workers’ cottages to large homes near the parks. Ask Kunji for current sale prices in the neighborhoods you are considering.
If you plan to rent a home short-term to visitors, check the City of Niagara Falls rules and permits before you buy – not after.
Buying here: what to know
Older homes deserve a careful inspection: roof, foundation, electrical, heating and the sewer line. Niagara Falls is in Niagara County, so recording fees and some closing costs differ from Erie County – your attorney will confirm the exact figures.
