In 1895, Elbert Hubbard founded the Roycroft community in East Aurora, and the village has been making things beautifully ever since. Today the restored Roycroft Campus is a National Historic Landmark where working artisans still practice bookbinding, metalwork, and printmaking.
A Main Street that delivers
East Aurora’s Main Street regularly appears on national best-of lists, and for good reason: independent booksellers, the 1925 Aurora Theatre, Vidler’s 5 & 10, and a dining scene that draws visitors from across the region – all within a few walkable blocks.
The housing picture
Inventory here is perennially tight. Village Victorians and bungalows within walking distance of Main Street command a premium and sell quickly, while newer homes on the village edge offer more space with the same school district. Buyers should be pre-approved and ready to move when the right home appears.
Curious what life in the village looks like day to day? I am always happy to walk Main Street with a client and talk through the micro-markets street by street.
